The firm fielded an evaluation team to assess the progress of the project in meeting its objectives to develop an effective university program for Mayan-speaking students. The evaluation determined

  • the extent to which the project was contributing to promoting a positive self-image among the indigenous students
  • the degree to which the project was creating an attitude of mutual cultural enrichment among indigenous and non-indigenous students
  • the success of the project in recruiting indigenous students, especially women
  • the success of the project in meeting the career aspirations of the indigenous students

The team made recommendations for technical assistance needed to reinforce weak aspects.
