Financial Assistant – USAID/Rwanda “Strengthening Equitable Education for the Deaf” (SEED) Activity (On-Site)

Juárez & Associates, Inc. (J&A) is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Assistant to prepare financial reports and support J&A’s Rwanda-based Financial and Administrative Coordinator in connection with the firm’s work on the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID)-funded “Strengthening Equitable Education for the Deaf” activity in Rwanda (SEED or the Activity). The Financial Assistant will support the Financial and Administrative Coordinator’s fiscal management of the Activity to ensure that USAID procedures and accounting/financial control requirements are being met.

The Activity is expected to be a five-year program with a budget of approximately USD $4.5M. This position is based in Kigali, Rwanda.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial report
  • Calculate and keep records of local travel expenses
  • Quote and prepare authorization forms for purchases of services and goods
  • Manage records of procurement
  • Keep personnel-related files of local staff and consultants updated

Qualifications

  • Minimum of high school diploma with accounting studies
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a financial assistant, clerk, or equivalent
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Suite
  • Strong communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, multitask, and meet deadlines
  • Proactive attitude
  • Collaborative work style and ability work in diverse environments.
  • Experience working with international organizations or NGOs is desirable.
  • Experience working with U.S. Agency for International Development regulations, is preferred
